How To Accelerate Towards Your Desired Future

Procrastination is the killer of all good ideas.  Actually, let me make that stronger, procrastination is the killer of your future.  When you put something off to a time that suits you better, you rob yourself of the key ingredient to progress, and that is inertia.

Today I’m going to talk about how you can make yourself more successful.  I’m going to talk about using the power of goals, coupled with action, to accelerate your progress towards your desired destination.  Today I’m going to break open my definition for success and show you how you can realize your maximum potential.  And today I’m going to be brutally honest with you.

Don’t be fearful, this is going to be one of those rides you take that scares the living daylights out of you, makes you think bad thoughts about me, but is a ride you will remember because it changed your life.  Hang on……………… here we gooooooo…………

The key for you to make yourself successful, or more successful, is to harness the power of goals.  I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, and again, and again…… You can use goals to accelerate yourself towards your desired future.  The key questions many people ask are “why” and “how”.  So let’s answer those questions.

In my seminars I teach my definition for success, which I learned from world famous teacher and philosopher, Earl Nightingale.

“Success is the pursuit of a worthy goal”

What this means is that you will find your success by identifying your personal worthy goal and chasing after it.  It’s in the chasing of that goal that you will truly find your success – and it won’t be the status of the goal, rather who you become because you chased after something bigger than yourself.  This is the key to reaching your maximum potential, you see when you grow (and you will grow by chasing goals) you increase your personal limitations which open new possibilities for you.

Can you see how this would maximize your potential?

So “why” chase goals?  Chasing goals should be something that excites you because of who they make you in the process.

Now I’m all for writing goals, but that’s not the hard part.  Here comes the second question many people ask, the “How”.  Here’s how – there’s a small word in the definition for success that I shared with you earlier, and that’s the word pursuit.  This is an action word, it’s a verb, and it’s implied that you are doing something.

I don’t mean to sound critical but that’s where many people fall over.  They take the ‘wait and see’ approach, for some it might be the ‘hope and pray’ approach, but neither of those methods include any action!  The key for you to accelerate towards your desired future is for you to couple your goal with action.  It’s the action that gives you inertia, which is forward motion, which is progress, which gets you nearer to your goal.

Here’s the part where I’m honest with you:  I’m not perfect.  There, I said it.

While you stop laughing at me – please allow me to explain myself.  What I mean by that is I accept that I do not have all the answers and do not get things right all the time.

I have some big hurdles in front of me personally and for me to achieve my goals I know that I need help.  I am aware that I need to seek guidance in my pursuit of my worthy goals.

Would you be interested to know where someone like me goes to get help?  I get guidance from other Success Experts because I know that “learners are earners”.  If I can grow by learning from others then I increase my chance of achieving my goals.  And that’s something I want.

My good friend Robyn Simpson has just released her new book and it’s all about helping you and me achieve our goals.  Robyn is fantastic at helping people maximize their potential and achieve more of their goals.  Please come and watch a short video of me talking about this book:

Do not procrastinate. This could be one of those defining moments where you have an opportunity to create some forward momentum. Action will lead to results.

I’ll see you there.
